Macbook Air has found itself a niche

“Expensive? It costs less than my suit.”
That’s the response of a fashion designer upon being asked whether the Macboork Air that he had just bought was expensive.
Thing is, although it has been subject to a lot of criticism (I think it’s too expensive, but that’s it), it fills a gap that had only been recently addressed by Sony but for very expensive prices ($2000+). There’s a bunch of people that desire a lightweight and thin laptop but still usable (not like those Toshiba Librettos that come with a myopia as an extra).
So, I do believe there’s a niche for these notebooks. They won’t sell as much as the Macbooks or Macbook Pros but they’re definitely not as bad as pundits say.

Mário, you talk about the Vaio’s, but for me the main contender for this notebook is the Toshiba Portegé SeriesR, which costs 2500€.
Madril, you’re right, that one too, but I definitely see more of those tiny VAIOs than the Portegés.
