Apple Remote tip

Here’s a tip for Apple Remote that very few people actually know about it — myself included until five minutes ago. But first the preface.
Before I go to sleep I usually watch an episode of Heroes or Prison Break from my iMac 24″ (3 meters from my bed but it’s still big enough). When it finishes I have (had) to get up and turn it off/put it on sleep. Than I though: “Well, since I can control the media player (VLC/DVD Player) with the Remote, why not should I be able to put it to sleep?”
Some small research — one Google query actually — and boom. Just press the Play/Pause button for a couple of seconds and there you go. Your Mac goes to sleep.
