Some myths last forever

Some friends of my sister have recently visited her. Upon seeing her iMac G5 (it used to be mine but I bought the new 24″ iMac) they immediately stated “It’s cute, but it’s not as good as Windows for working. It’s good for designers though”.
Ahh the joy of myths. Although I’ll give them a break as they’ve never used a Mac on their life, it’s still funny to see how some myths last forever.
As for me, I’m more productive with Mac OS X/Locomotive/TextMate for developing in Ruby/Ruby on Rails than with any other platform.
P.S. - When my sister used Linux full time her friends simply stated “What the heck is this?”. She did a nice work explaining though. She usually started with the story that there’s many more colors besides the dull gray :-)
I have to agree with you on that. Most people that say that is not as good as Windows, 9 times out of 10, haven’t used a Mac. Because if they would’ve then they would love it.
Mac OS X Leopard is not only graphically superior than the Vista but the speed and the capacities are just outstanding. I have a Mac Pro and I am completely happy with it. Best move I ever did in my life.
