And the new keyboard? I want one…..
So do I, so do I :-)
Me too…
é pá agora em Português: “Vai vender que nem ginjas.”
Oi, that Dell pic just hurts me. What? Was that assembled by a toddler? I’m sure that the same toddler would do just as terrible of a job at cabling up the iMac. It’s also interesting that there are more cables in the picture than there are devices. Also, who puts their tower on the desktop? *sigh*
Actually the picture is not that far from reality. For the Dell you need the following cables:
- 2x AC power cables
- 1x VGA/DVI
- 1x Keyboard
- 1x Mouse
- 1x USB Webcam
Total: 6 cables.
With the iMac you only need 3, and if you buy the wireless version you only need one!
I found the higher res version of the pic on Apple’s wob-site. What’s connected is this;
1x Webcam
1x Keyboard
1x Mouse
1x Monitor (SVGA/DVI) (which is circled around to appear as though it’s three cables)
1x Speaker
2x AC
The main problem that I have with the picture isn’t necessarily the quantity of cables as it is how they’re purposefully all piled together to make it seem worse than it is. I mean, if you look at the higher res model the set assembler even tied some of the cables in knots. It’s just… disingenuous and deceitful.
I think that’s my biggest problem with Apple’s marketing in general lately. I love their products and think that their designs are awesome, but their marketing team makes me feel like I’m teaming up with the lying schoolyard bully. Their very attacks on the archetypal nerd in the Mac Vs. PC commercials rankle me every time that I see them.
Either way, it does look sexy as all hell. I’m glad that they slimmed it up, that’s what I always hated about the old ones. The keyboard definitely looks pretty sweet too, I may even try to pick one up for my PC.
One other quick question, does anyone have any shots of these guys in the wild? I’d love to see some non-staged shots.
Oh snap. I just got off the line with an Apple “Expert” who said “It don’t matter” which one I look at, neither of the keyboards (wired or wireless) will work with a PC. I’ll just have to wait for someone to release drivers.
That’s kind of weird, the keyboard looks like a normal one.
