Microsoft Portugal: Best subsidiary of 2007

It seems that the bootlicking done by and to the Portuguese Government is starting to payoff to Microsoft Portugal. They have been elected the best subsidiary for the whole year of 2007, a quite big achievement considering that Portugal is a 35K square mile country with 10 million people.
It’s great for Microsoft and terrible news for Portugal and its citizens. While a lot of European and overseas countries are trying to get better deals or sometimes even replacing their proprietary software with Open Source, Portugal keeps swallowing Microsoft contracts one after another, most of them celebrated without a public hearing or any technical considerations.
So, congratulations Portugal, Microsoft’s puppy of 2007.
