What’s so revolutionary about the iPhone

I’ve tried an iPhone so I think that makes me eligible to talk about it with some actual and factual data.
A lot of people are questioning why the iPhone is revolutionary. Marcos Marado wished the iPhone never makes its way to Portugal. Besides truly believing that his wish will not come true (actually, I’m all in for iPhone’s success), I was also thinking about a clear way to express myself to assert what’s so revolutionary about the iPhone. But then someone responded to his post and gave a link to the following video which expresses way better whatever I could say in words.
The iPhone may lack MMS (I’ve only sent one MMS!) or a better camera (I like the Digital Rebel XT, thank you) but that’s irrelevant. What’s truly innovative is that it made the jump from simply having a touch-screen to making a touch-screen really dependable and useful.

Of course I don’t believe the phone won’t come into Portugal… I just feel I would be better without all the hype and behaviour that people have when they’re with an iPhone or near one…
I, for one, take my hat to Apple for the way they can actually make something be as desirable as the iPhone is. If I ever have a company I want it to be like that :-)
Fair enough :-)
