Sunday, Bloody Sunday

If we were in the cold war, it would be the same as if the United States or Russia were pushing the red button. That destructive button. A nuclear bomb.
In the virtual world, something similar happened. Microsoft stroked their patent arsenal towards Linux and, overall, the Free Software community. Overall, these are the claims:
- 42 patents infringed by Linux
- 65 patents infringed by GNU/Linux UI (menus, toolbars, etc)
- 45 patents infringed by OpenOffice.org
- 15 patents infringed by email programs
- 68 patents infringed by several other programs
I don’t know what’s going to happen. I do wish companies related to Linux do something and sue Microsoft to oblivion. IBM, Redhat, Novell, Sun, Oracle and, perhaps, Google.
The world would be definitely a better place without Microsoft.
