Shiira - A great browser for Mac OS X
- Published April 30th, 2007 in Free Software, Apple
If you think Safari misses some plugins, are sick of Camino crashes or Firefox’s memory hog let me tell you about Shiira. Shiira is a Free/Open Source browser made in Japan that uses Apple’s WebKit for rendering.
Basically, it’s Safari on steroids with a better user interface (that pleases my girlfriend) and a lot of useful extensions (for a complete listing check their website). Unfortunately, it doesn’t cut it in what regards to stability. It crashes too often. But I’ll keep a eye on it. It’s very promising.
