Microsoft Q1 2007 results — again

I’ve been reading a ton of misleading stuff about Vista revenues. The source I saw for the first time stated the reason for such huge revenue was the upgrade coupons sold early on before the product was actually released in January.
So, I ask you dear lazzy web, is there any evidence that Vista results are coming from actual retail demand (not OEM)? Do you see the mob using it? Because I don’t see as I wrote down before but I live in a very tech-savvy world.
Yesterday I saw a guy returning Windows Vista and asking for a cash refund on Walmart (they denied though because the DVD case was open). If you go to Circuit City, BestBuy or Frys, there are hundreds of Windows Vista boxes to be sold. They started by occupying a huge space and now they’re confined to a small cubicle.
Anecdotal evidence really shows a different reality but I’m here to be proven wrong.

In my company, the sysadmins started to install Vista in some new laptops… in a short time all those laptoos went to XP! Vista isn’t ready yet for a developer’s machine…
