digg.com infrastructure
For those who don’t know, Digg.com uses a LAMP stack, with Debian GNU/Linux, Apache MySQL and PHP.
They have 102 servers sharing the work load. I don’t know the inners of their infrastructure but they must have something like a set of load balancers that split the charge by a pool of servers. Keeping MySQL replics synchronized accross machines is easily attainable.
