Linksys WAG54GS — Evilly bash
- Published September 13th, 2006 in /dev/random
Since I’ll be updating my ADSL line to ADSL2+ I needed to update my modem too.
Unfortunately, contrary to my former router (US Robotics) it does not allow connecting to DtDNS. That demanded some voodoo bash scripting in order to update my IP. Here’s how I fetch it (from one of my servers):
IPADDR=`wget http://proxyjudge.securityscanner.org/ &> /dev/null && cat index.html | grep title | awk '{print $6 }' | sed 's/< \/title>//’`
If anyone has a more easy way of doing such it would be highly appreciated! :-)
P.S. - By the way, I’m selling an Alcatel ADSL Speed Touch Pro (Annex B - ISDN/RDIS), an US Robotics SureConnect ADSL (Annex B - ISDN/RDIS) or a Conceptronic Router/Switcher/Wireless AP (no modem). If you’re interested in any of those let me know.
