Swiftfox

Swiftfox is not another Firefox extension. It’s a project created aiming at delivering performance builds compiled for several architectures, from AMD to Intel.
To faithfully test it I chose my “worst” performing machine, my laptop. It’s an Asus S5N with a Pentium M 1.6Ghz (Centrino) and 512MB RAM. I picked the build optimized for Pentium M, which includes O2 optimization level. MMX and SSE2 flags are also enabled.
If it was faster I would certainly notice since this laptop is quite slow due to the small amount of RAM. And it is really faster! Give it a try you certainly won’t regret.
P.S. - The only thing missing being a deb package for Ubuntu :-)

Swiftfox its also included in the “Automatix” package.
So to the “joe user” it’s very easy to try :)
Swiftfox now has packages for Ubuntu
