Google Checkout is alive!

No, it has nothing to do with PayPal.. it’s way more complete.
Google Checkout provides a web service to the eCommerce owner capable of managing all the checkout process, from setting up delivery addresses and making payments with credit cards. Sensitive information, like credit cards numbers, are kept by Google. Also, it allows you to track your packages from one single location, Google’s webpage.
This is excellent news. People will get more confident about online shopping. Afterall, one would rather trust Google than a site that he came accross through a search. Moreover, it eases the checkout procedure that eCommerce websites have to implement! Just great news.
Now I’d like to know the commission charged for each transaction. I hope it’s way lower than Redunicre, the monopolist credit card provider that handles online transactions in Portugal.
This will definitely be a source of great revenue for Google. And boy, these guys deserve every single penny they get.




When I put “sushi in phoenix” into Google Maps and it worked, I said I’d give Google my firstborn. Since then I haven’t been disappointed.
