The Art of Pitching

I had already noticed that only 1 in every 100 individuals actually knows how to pitch. Those 99% do nothing more than boring and tedious presentations.
After reading one of Guy Kawasaki’s books — more on that later — I realized that pitching is really an art by itself. He approached the subject as “The Art of Pitching”.
And I wouldlike to highlight the thing known as Guy’s rule. This is similiar to Pareto’s theory about the 20/80 ratio but instead of noticing a fact he tries to impose it. With no further delays, it’s called the 10/20/30 for doing better slideshows. 10 is the maximum number of slides, 20 is the time the presentation should take and 30 is the size of the font.
Sometimes I’d really like to be in the situation of a venture capitalist who can reject a bad pitch. Unfortunately, I’m one of those who has to assist to those bad pitches but without having the chance to complain, or, if ever complaining, without seeing efforts of change.
