IE 7 Beta 1 vs Firefox 1.5RC3 vs Opera 9 Beta 1

I’ll be willing to do a more extensive review comparing these three browsers later on. In the mean time, you can check this comparison from PCWorld that puts the three browsers to the test. The following list resumes the browsers I use according to the operating system I’m on:

  • GNU/Linux: Firefox
  • GNU/Linux without enough RAM: Epiphany
  • Mac OS X: Firefox. Sometimes Safari, for doing small things.
  • Windows: Firefox
  • As for Safari vs Firefox, this is my point of view: Firefox is faster rendering webpages, has nicer plugins and it is Free Software. Safari is faster to start/open/work with and it doesn’t require as much RAM as Firefox does. So, for small jobs, like consulting PSI20 index, it’s fine. Besides that, I avoid it. Ohh.. I was forgeting.. plus, Wordpress editor buttons are not yet available for Safari. Noticed that while writing this very post :-)

*Update*: Here’s my own review.
